| Time for an update, sorry no pics to post but wayne is out of town and the pictures are on his computer. I'm at the coyas watching the boys (they're sleeping) while manny and dana go out for date night :) So...wedding plans are coming along great. We got a LOT of stuff done this last week. Wayne is all about getting time management (since he has so little free) and helps keep me on task; I don't know what I'd do without him! It seemed easier when I had a set schedule up in tally, but being here without one day looking like the next has made it difficult for me to get in a groove. I think this last week was good though, I felt like the schedule worked well and we got a ton accomplished and still had time to spend together. We booked our photographer, a videographer, a florist/decorator (he was so funny--VERY passionate about his work, hehe--but it should be great!), Wayne's tux, the groomsmen's tuxes, looked for bridesmaids dresses, put in calls for pianists and djs, made progress on the rehersal dinner, and we will go cake tasting next weekend. WHEW! Dana and I are going to look at registry stuff tomorrow and my mom and Wayne's mom come in town on Tuesday!!! YEA! We're so excited to have our parents here!!!!!
Then I'm taking a quick trip to tally and pensacola the 17th-20th to hang out and get the registry knocked out with my ma.
I've just started reading "The Power of a Praying Wife" and it is a GREAT book! It gives awesome perspective on how to better and more specifically pray for your spouse. It was great revelation when the book described prayer as the ultimate language of love. It reasoned that the more you pray for someone, the more you'll love them; and the more you love them, the more you'll pray for them. It's true!! I finish praying and find that as my heart issues are dealt, with like selfishness (it's amazing how being around someone most of the day everyday can bring out the selfish little kid in me), I am so ready for Wayne to get back from work so I can tell him how much I love him! And I've found that as I really focus in on specifics and enter into the Lord's presence that He'll lay other people on my heart as well. Which I'm so thankful for, becuase being down here can leave me feeling kind of disconnected from the body and praying in tongues more often than not. So it works with all people--pray for them and love them more, and the more you love them, the more you'll want to pray for them...wow!
Okay, it's 830 and I'm pooped...gotta catch up on sleep before the moms come in town and we're up all night gabbing! Hope to see everyone soon! Peace...

| Wow...I've fallen off, no post in over a month. I'll blame it on the huge transition of moving to Miami and trying to plan a wedding ;) It's been great! Busy, to say the least, but great. Wayne and I finally booked a place to have the wedding yesterday. We actually walked out of the place totally frustrated and deciding NOT to do the wedding there...Wayne said it would take an act of God to convince him to have the ceremony and reception there because of the way we had been treated thus far (mainly me...being that I had tried repeatedly to call and talk to someone after seeing the place. My calls weren't returned and they didn't send info when the said they would.) So Wayne got back from a road trip about 3am that morning and then we got together to run some errands around noon. Days off are few and far between for him, and he's out of town a lot, so we try to make the best use of our time and had stopped by this hotel to discuss a contract. We waited 15 minutes and Wayne gave me the three minute ultimatum, "three minutes and we're out." He had on his business voice so I knew he was serious. When the time expired I let the front desk know how displeased we were with the service and communication of the sales department and headed back into the monsoon we ran through to get in the bldg in the first place. Wayne put me in the passenger side, but as he came around to the driver's side a woman ran out very appologetic and begging us to come back inside. I took the passive approach (even though I really wanted to do the wedding there) and looked to see what Wayne thought. He conceeded to go back in...because any woman that would run through a monsoon and stand in the rain for us in business suit and now drenched hair had to be an act of God. haha. anyway, we went back in, heard the sales pitch again and put together a contract that we later signed, sealed, and dated!! We were assured that there had been miscommunication within the office and that we would be a priority from now on. YEA!
Now the real fun begins...invitations, food tastings, florists, decorators, photographers, videographers, cakes, dresses, registries, etc, etc, etc! wow. I always figured dress, ceremony location and cake. Guess there is a LOT more work that goes into a wedding than that. It's funny how vendors look at us and rattle off wedding jargon until they see the bewildered look on our face and we explain to them..."we've never done this before." We're both pretty clueless but it makes the adventure fun to figure out together.
Miami is great, although I definately miss all you guys back in Tally-Ho. It's a different world down here. My dark hair, brown eyes and "olive colored" complexion seem to throw people off a lot, so I find myself smiling and nodding as I'm spoken to in Spanish about Lord only knows what. If I could pick a language for my tongues it would definately be spanish--at least for this season.
The other playerss wives are sweet, I've gotten to be pretty close with a couple of them. This is a whole other world too. I have kept busy trying to keep up with Wayne's schedule. Game every other night this month, manditory 'social events', wive's meetings, charitable activities (which are going to be a great outlet into the community--I've gotten to know some of his friends here in town who are very plugged in and have found that I can volunteer at children's shelters and mentor/motivate/encourage young women (babies with babies, etc) at another organization). On top of that planning a wedding and keeping up with Dana as my workout buddy (she kicks my butt every monday, tuesday, thurs, and friday) have kept me extremely busy. But you know what?? God is good all the time and gives us the strength-and sanity- we need for each new season. Praise the Lord, I'd be lost--and looney--without Him :)
I know that was a long post but I just wanted to get back up to speed...I'm going to try to start posting pics again soon. We should be booking a photographer to do some engagement pictures in the next week, so I'll see if I can't get those up here. Hope all is well; peace out friends!
| I'M ENGAGED!!! Wayne proposed to me on Friday, February 17th at my home in Pensacola, Fl! I would go into details about the story, but I don't have a ton of time right now and we're going to be writing it all up on a knot.com site so I think I'll just wait until then. But we're getting married on July 8th, 2006 in Miami, Florida...so we have LOTS of work to do to get ready. We actually began our "preparing for marriage" book with Pastor John and his wife Pam the day after we got engaged...whoa! This weekend was such a whirlwind that I'm really excited to just be all moved down there and settled in so we can enjoy the planning process.
I also have a new cell phone number--the old one is now Gretchen's new number, so if you need my new one you can message me here or just email me. YEA!!!!!!
| Wow, it's been a LONG time! I'm in super transition mode right now...only one more week of work, training gretchen to be my replacement, going to pensacola with Wayne to visit my familiy then to Kansas to visit his...and then back to Tally for a week, over to Pcola for a week, and then I move to Miami for good!!!
I'll be living with the Coyas and working for the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders. My job will consist of marketing a new branch of the Atlanta based company in the South Florida area. It's called Impact Cheerleading and is basically all-star cheerleading through churches. (it will be a great alternative to all-star gyms where they have the baby girls in half tops, mini skirts and make-up at 3 while they shake their booties to drop it like it's hot and baby got back.) I'm excited to help build the company because I practically grew up with FCC. I competed for 4 years with the company when I was in high school and then when I graduated I worked for them for 4 years, staffing and then directing summer camps my last year. Plus, what a great way to network with the local churches and reach out to the youth in the community!
It was so neat the way that God worked out the job...I called the president of the company just to see if he knew any schools or gyms that were looking for help in the Miami area. He said, "Are you kidding?? You're moving? Do you want to work for us again?" They had been praying about launching Impact cheerleading in other big cities in the US, they've just established programs in Atlanta, Sacramento, and are in the beginning stages of Dallas and now Miami. Miami just happened to be one of the cities they were praying about getting a regional director in, so he sat there and told me I was an answer to their prayers---while I'm telling him the same about the job! God always provides and does it in the coolest ways ever! I was starting to get nervous I was being too picky about a job but felt I was just supposed to hold out, that God had it all taken care of. I'd been praying for something part-time I could do mostly from the house (I've decided the 8-5 desk job brings me NO life, so I'm retiring), worked around my schedule (so I could spend time with Wayne when he wasn't working), and was something I woke up excited and passionate about doing each morning. And look! It is all of the above!! Praise the Lord!
Now that I'm leaving this job, it just so happened Gretchen was in a transition stage also and is able to step in here and bring in a new faith and heart for this insurance office in Tally. Another answer to prayer! And one of the biggest blessing about being in Miami and with the Coyas is that they only live 7 minutes from Wayne! I'm super pumped...T minus 19.5 hours till I pick up Wayne at the airport...YEA!!
| SO MUCH FUN IN MIAMI AND ON THE CRUISE!! I'll try to update and put up pictures soon...so much to tell!! YEA! | | |
